grizzlebar
Anyone hear of this company? Products look well fabricated and there certainly seems to be enough to match just about any interior, though I guess any louver would work. Their smallest system seems like it would fit in place of the heater box too http://www.restomodair.com/shopproducts/bantam-ultra-compact-custom-air-conditioning-system/ Speaking of, anyone know the dimensions of the heater box off the top of their head? bianchini
I'd love to find out if this works/fits 02s.
grizzlebar
me as well. Once my ship returns to port I plan on building a mock-up to the dimensions listed on the site. I have to pull my heater core for another rebuild anyways, so it'll be a good opportunity to see if it'll fit. if you've got some free time, can you give them a call and see what they say? maybe they have some familiarity with our set up 1 hour ago, bianchini said: I'd love to find out if this works/fits 02s. Tdh
I've look at them for other marques I work with. They're pretty nice setups, and well engineered. Keep in mind they're targeted toward the modder/builder crowd, so they don't really produce a model specific kit like what you'd get with the ICE auto air kit. You'll likely do some fabbing to get things the way you want them.
Tsingtao_1903
I think anything wider than 13" will not allow the glove box to be opened or will be too much in the way of your gas pedal leg. These people have a compact AC/heater system that appears to fit if you remove the 02 heater box. http://www.oldairproducts.com/catalog/hurricane_advantage.php I have not personally tried it to say whether it can pull in outside air, fit in the space, or allow both heat and A/C on at the same time to defrost. You'll likely do some fabbing to get things the way you want them. So I'm thinking that it would be easy enough to hook it up to the defrost vents, and the floor vent is contained. I'm actually thinking it would be pretty slick to modify the current heater control panels (right and left of the steering wheel) to become the louvers for the new system. I'd have to add another set or two on the passenger side, but that doesn't seem like it'd be impossible. Their control panels would integrate easily enough into my console. Everything else is contained.
bianchini
I'd love something to just replace my heater box. I don't have the time or patience to rebuild it.

Simeon
Someone on the UK board put me onto this one. https://www.carbuildersolutions.com/en/compact-air-conditioning-kit I am interested in the Dtech installation as well but would appreciate some details regarding the installation. How about a nice thread with lots of photos covering the entire installation process? This would be not only good marketing but it might help to slow the number of posts with people asking if anyone has (independent experience) of installation.

Dimensionally, it is short enough to fit under the heater box and narrow enough not to interfere with the glove box. Interesting.
Simeon
How would you arrange the ducts? Is it shallow enough to build a console around the front and add vents? My dash is pretty nasty so did consider cutting ducts into the front face of the dash ‘shelf’. Need to investigate the rear of the dash and how much clearance exists.
