Sunroof sealing gasket problem

I finally got around to install my sunroof and discovered a problem with the sealing gaskets.  The gasket on the rear of the panel was too wide to sit flush with the panel surface.  Fortunately I had a older duplicate set and this gasket seated correctly along rear panel edge (flush with the panel top).  I have also found that the bead diameter on the newer gaskets was also slightly larger.  It is probably a difference between earlier production gaskets and the period after the gaskets became NLA about 4 or 5 years ago.  This might help explain why some of you have had a problem with the gaskets fitting too tight or coming loose.  I coat my gaskets with RTV silicone before installing to help promote longevity (let cure for about 3 or 4 days).  The previous gasket lasted over thirty years.
