69NEWCLASSNH
I recently purchased a car that had been sitting in for many years. Prior to sitting, the motor was rebuilt and upgraded. There is no VIN embossed on the block and the head is an E12 with a 1980 date stamp. With the valve cover off, it looks like some machine work and threading had been done where the mechanical fuel pump bolts in. My question is, did e12 heads from 1980 have the provision for a mechanical fuel pump, or was this a fuel injected head with the fuel pump installed later? Thank you, George Edited October 25, 2017 by 69NEWCLASSNH
HBChris
These heads were made long after the 02 was gone, its still an e12 head for a 2002 with mechanical fuel pump provisions.
TobyB
Yeah, that's a 'repair' part, and if it was for a car with a fuel pump, it got drilled. I suppose you could find an undrilled one as a repair part for a tii... The latest casting dates i've seen were 1987, for the E12. t
