Battery Cable Through Firewall

Looking for the ideal place to pass a battery cable though the passenger side firewall for an under the back seat battery mount. I've read a lot of threads on the subject but haven't seen where the best location is to drill. Can anyone supply any photos of where people have passed the cable though the firewall? I plan on running the cable in the interior where the factory plastic fuel lines were installed. Thanks in advance!

I believe there is a hole covered with a tin grommet through the firewall under the brake pipes just behind your engine. Pretty sure it is there for RHD cars and needs to be broken through and perhaps drilled out slightly.

The battery relocation was done by the previous on my car, with the wire passing through the firewall.

 

When I disassembled the car for restoration, I noticed that the hole used for the battery cable looked like a factory hole and not drilled.

 

I'll dig thought my disassembly pics to see what I can find.

 

EDIT: found a photo. It was to the left of the steering column. Don't mind the notes

Hi,

 

Just like crawling under a poorly supported car, running anything high-current along with the fuel lines gives me the willies.  One spark...

 

I ran my cable along the tunnel on the passenger side.  You can't see any bump in the carpet.  There's a very convenient opening between the vertical panel (heelboard) and the tunnel to pass a hefty cable through to the space under the rear seat.  I used it to place the battery on the right side.

I think the engine harness and battery cable will have more room to be arranged on the passenger side then the drivers. Plus the ECU will be located somewhere on the passenger side foot well. At least that was my thinking.
