I'm running an older version of Solidworks and could help with some of the modeling.  I also just picked up a Lulzbot Taz 6- that's being pretty fun, too.

Great printer!  You'll have some fun with that!  I would be happy to trade some super high quality prints for cad work, I will PM you!

Yeah, do.  I'm on holiday for another week- visiting family in Woodland of all places- and going over to the Napa valley then the coast.  Actually went through Marysville today...  Small world.  (For the rest of you, that means I ended up about 30 minutes away from sten_mitchell while on vacation... And was about 5 minutes away earlier today.)

Front face for a Frigiking AC center console and shifter surround in ABS?  The relatively flat Behr center console has been duplicated in metal, but the Frigiking would be a bit more complicated I'd suspect.  But how many out there need one?  I wouldn't have thought there'd be enough demand for the Behr, but it's been done.

Also much need on the Neue Klasse forum, but much fewer vehicles...

That's the beauty of 3D printing, it's not like making expensive tooling so quantities can be low. For hobbit type stuff this can be as low as one piece if you really need it.

Pics!!!  I can print anything, and print cost is reasonable, its just the CAD that takes a lot of time (or costs too much)

OH! I just thought of a part that might lend itself PERFECTLY for affordable 3D printing:

The white seal/frame around the glass of a trapezoid early exterior mirror. I have one that's NOS piece on my car now. I might be persuaded to mail it to you, if you make me one or two spares. It's got the consistency or white poly or nylon plastic. Very much like the plastic stuff I've seen printed in the past - thoughts?

ive been contemplating trying the black inserts for the door handles.  mine seem to be missing, but i have a broken in one in the box of spares that came with the car that would work for modeling.  my fusion 360 skills aren't that hot though.... :P  maybe this winter when I have a little more time.

What??? Those are TOTALLY AVAILABLE all day long from BMW. Why waste your precious energy and time on such "pedestrian" parts? I know they're no longer $3 each....but at least you can get 'em for under $125! :D

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
