Took the tools out of the trunk, to make room for luggage when my muther and bruther come to visit.  Prepping the car for a back seat passenger.  I will be playing oober driver for a week.

Rainy forecast ahead, so I'll keep a squeegee handy.  It's bound to get a little foggy.  It's time to pull the foam plugs out of the heater vents.

To and from SeaTac in the rain at night will be a good test for my new head lights.  It feels like sport, keeping up with traffic over there.  The 3.9+4speed humms right along at eighty.

Sadly, I’ll be giving my little red rocket 1600 a final pre-winter cleaning inside and out before before changing oil, getting out the fuel stabilizer and battery tender for hibernation and putting it to bed for the winter, hoping Santa brings some new shiny things for the holidays.IMG_0288.thumb.jpeg.a64d6e4eb30b4ba6a318de5df0b57a6d.jpeg

Finished my door and rear interior side panels.  Leather from Lseat.com that matches my Recaros.  Upholstery friend of mine did the stitching for me.  I had to make several fiberglass repairs to the old rear fiberboard panels as I wanted to keep the contoured panel look.

Perfect day for me, I handed tools to my son Ellis as he worked on his 72 golf…new tires and wheels / mostly complete with installation of single 40 side draft…we have it working on a cable waiting for direct linkage being fabricated …

Installed my new carpets from Esty.  Center console is ready to install next, just in time to park it for the Winter.

That looks great. How difficult was it? Any specific challenges? Tips? I have a set I need to install.

Take your time, dry fit everything and form the carpet to the area.  I used a hair dryer on low to warm things up but I was doing it in a unheated garage.  Then just let the glue set up well before laying the carpet down.  These two articles were great help.

Oh and FYI it’s pretty easy, took me about 6 hours total not including the sound dampening.

Just getting around to posting this... Added an auxiliary air valve with plumbing. Now warm-up RPM is ~1,400 and warm idle is ~950.

Very cool, I’m curious which parts you used? Are you running a standalone ecu?
