Question on your door sills. Is it backwards or is that the way the early 2002’s are?

Early narrow version, the stock ones are gray plastic, 51477470007.  These MVP ones are aluminum and include the rubber parts.

While the alternator is out, I connected a Dan Stern wiring harness for my euro-buckets and Osram lights.  It is an improvement!  Still need to mount the relays to the inner fender.  Easy to do with the alternator out.  (Battery is trunk mounted.)  Postscript.  Had a moment, mounted the relays alongside the Horn relay.

Nice work on the seals. I'm literally doing this same job! But, I also think your door sill may be backward and may need to be spun 180 degrees.

The later wide sills cover most of the sill, (first picture), and have a different mounting system.  The early narrow sills screw into body on the inside of the pinch weld edge and the rubber seal for the bottom of the door sits on the outside of the pinch weld edge and captures the curved door seal at the bottom, (second picture).  There was also an accessory metal plate that was available to cover up more of the sill, (third picture).

Realized after returning from cars + coffee that my brake lights were in a state of constant on and after a couple of consultant calls and  faq searches + wire wiggles I discovered that one of the male tabs on the sensor/relay was on its last legs. Thanks to a quick swap from @BarneyT [I bought lunch] we're back on the road and ready for the 02berfest drive this weekend. Prepared now that no one smashes into me. Also bought some black "stainless steel" braided hose from amazon to dress up the engine bay

I just finished some body/paint work on the passenger side front fender. As I was putting it back together I  decided to use a small section of pvc tubing on the bumper to help keep it up off the fender.  Hopefully, the small sections of sliced tubing will keep the fiberglass bumper from rubbing on the freshly painted body. Time will tell.

Finished making a bus bar and installed same.  Cover is being made.  That  small opening in the frame rail ate two of my nuts.

About a month ago I made a set of side panels for the trunk and today the carpet I ordered from Esty arrived (incredible quality).  While the carpet refresh is a winter project I couldn’t help installing the trunk panels and carpet!

Before and After

Side note: the BMW bag was my dads, he was a BMW nut (runs in my blood I guess) and bought that at the BMW Museum in Munich.

Wear skivvies next time or at least a jock strap before we all start calling you Johnny. For some info that might help I've found in my dotage that blue tape is your friend for holes like that, now if I can just remember to put it on before that Oh shit moment I'll be fine.

If everybody in the room is thinking the same thing, then someone is not thinking.

You can go fishing for the nuts with a small donut magnet tied to some 14 gauge solid wire. Ask me how I know 😉
