This is great. First I’ve heard of the TIK livery. Down a rabbit hole I go…

It’s a ‘69 livery. ETCC BMW works team.

Kugelfischer Turbo, 298 HP cars. They raced alongside works NA Kugelfischer 02s… when they worked, which wasn’t always, they were brutal. Banned for 1970…

added: BMW AG used the same style livery in 1968 on some of their non-Kompressor 02s. (Hahne/Hobbs, Winners 68 Nurburgring).

I got an inspection sticker.  Not a trivial matter on a 50-year-old car.  The path to regulatory compliance (and to removing 35 lb from the nose of the car) involved new starter and a new LiPO battery so I could start the car, new turn signal and emergency flasher switches, and cleaning up corroded connectors for my headlights and installing 3000K LEDs for the 5000K Ebay special LEDs that were on the car.  The new ones don't use fans and the LED driver is integral to the bulb assembly.  I was going to replace the tired Hella lamp bodies with fresh Koito H4s that I got (smokin' good deal!), but I sheared off the first stud on the old headlight bucket so I quit while I was ahead.

I hope you have all well in hand.... this is not a storm to play with. Sending all karma to assist!

Drove over to Pine Knoll Shores to meet Larry (2002#3) and his wife and friend Jim, down for a beach week. Went for a drive in the 74, Larry driving, got a workout on his left foot looking for the elusive non-existent pedal!

Back to the house for a beer and a chat while the surf rolled in... the best of times, good folks. Just the beginning!

@0257 Stay safe! Everything is replaceable except YOU and your family.

Milton looks menacing, and last reported to be headed  directly toward Sarasota!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I mean: directly.  A little late now to hope for a change.  Thanks to all for the wishes.  We think we’re prepared and we’ll be spending the night on higher ground.  Tomorrow will tell the tale!

While I wait for new carpets and trunk liner from Esty I made new trunk panels. $10 jigsaw from FB, ⅛” Masonite and 3M77 glue from Home Depot and vinyl from Amazon.  All in about $50 and an afternoon!

Today I took some time to admire Zouave’s saltwater-free carrosserie.  Milton was no joke, but in Native American legend Sarasota is a special place, protected from the worst storms.  In any event the surge never reached us and the winds left the house intact.

Thanks to all for the good wishes.
