Installed a stainless steel fuel rail from Ace Andrew. Looks great I think.P_20170816_161752_vHDR_Auto_resized.thumb.jpg.cd3ad609d94856e4154ef1527f82b331.jpgP_20170816_161745_vHDR_Auto_resized.thumb.jpg.f7d7511f42235075bd0d9151a4db4f21.jpgP_20170816_161738_vHDR_Auto_resized.thumb.jpg.e0b83b6e722590e8c4af7763419cb421.jpgP_20170816_161803_vHDR_Auto_resized.thumb.jpg.8a5fea5d785d8cc54a757c9b27b7f4eb.jpg

Today I taped up surrounding area and repainted my radiator with some high heat resistant satin black. I was originally going to replace it but thought I'd just spruce my current one up while I hunt down a NOS one (if anyone has one they would be willing to part with, I'm interested)

Looks like something  I'd do.  Then I'd  reconsider and remove the rad and then paint the whole thing.  Same time better result.

Remember for later: you can get your rad recored with a higher volume core  for $200ish.  All problems solved.

Oh nice! Great to know. I was thinking of getting mine recorded but the top section has some old repairs in it and I'd rather get a whole new one and install

I was thinking of removing the whole thing for a repaint but just started taping and masking last night and couldn't stop ;)

Lifting out the radiator is a 15 minute job. Plus its good to flush the fluid routinely anyway.

However i appreciate the decent tape job. Im so bad about throwing a couple pieces of newpaper down and spray painting away and then overspraying in the process....

Check out Walloth & Nesch.  They sell a replica with higher volume at a great price.  Flat rate shipping and other great parts can create a early Xmas package to yourself.

Got my steering box back together, really happy how it came out-

Also got my lower timing cover painted in my favorite wrinkle black finish. Should contrast nicely with the silver block.

Tried out my new favorite cleaning tool for the oil passages- a meter long flexible nylon aquarium hose brush. This thing is great... double ended and joined by a giant flexible spring

And now that I've got all the freeze plugs in the block I was able to seal the water jackets up, and fill them to the brim with Evaporust to dissolve all the corrosion and chunks waiting to flake off and block up my radiator or roach my new water pump.

There won't be a grain of rust left on or in this motor when I'm done!!

Scoob you are doing amazing work. Wasn't this just supposed to be a temporary block?

Installed my 123, wire holder and MSD 8.5 MM wires.  Runs nice and smooth, it fattened up the idle a little.  Not sure why. I leaned it out to a a steady 12.5 AFR.
