Well I opened Pandora's Box and found Weber 40 DCOE's and a afr gauge.  Had my youngest ride with me while I read him numbers to write down off the afr gauge. Then checked the timing and was going to change points but I have the wrong one,,duh.

Went through and checked my jets and emulsion tube to see what I got.  Did a little research and found nobody runs the same set up.?

And so it begins.

I installed my TI airbox last night. Then after stepping back and admiring it I realized I wanted to do some more fine tuning. So, off they go again.

This was my first time rebuilding a pair of DCOE’s. They were rough when I got them but thought they were worth saving. A matched pair of 45DCOE 15/16’s. I took my time (started almost 2 years ago!) I replaced everything and probably spent more than I should have, but it’s been worth every penny. Learned a lot, and the 02 starts/idles/runs better than it ever did with the Lynx setup.

@jmr_1602 How did you connect the DCOE's to the airbox? What did you use for air horns on the DCOE's? Was what you needed to do the connection all part of the Alpina TI setup?

thx!

This was a couple weeks back but I test fitted RS001s. The rims got sent to a three piece rim manufacturer and they're being relipped for an 8" width.

This project has to go on hold for me since school is starting again, I'll pick it back up in the winter.

‘73 Chamonix

I finally got around to installing the new shift tower isolation bushings and a shortened tower brace. I made a custom mounting tab for the brace from a chunk of angle iron. It seems to have worked out dandy.

I rewrapped the harness that runs from the firewall to the trunk and put it back in place. The fuel tube that runs through the cabin is now in place as well.

I cleaned up/lubed the parking brake handle and reinstalled it.

Once I finally got around to honing the clutch master cylinder in preparation to rebuild it I was disappointed to find that there are some very deep pits in the bore... of course they’re in the path of travel of one of the plunger seals... oh well. I’ll save it along with the rebuild kit. Perhaps I’ll have the body sleeved some day.

I have custom stacks. They look exactly like the TI versions but they fit Weber’s. I’m not sure who made them, but they are cast aluminum.

I also have a set of original Tisa stacks, but a previous owner cut out a wedge on one of them to clear the break booster.

if you’d like more photos message me and I’ll gather them.

I've had a slow leak in one of my tires that was losing around  4 psi per day and then it increased to more like 15 psi a couple of days ago, so I   finally   did something about it.

It passed the soapy water test, so I might be able to avoid the hassle of taking it to Les Schwab for a free patch.
(sometimes free just ain't cheap enough)

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
