What type of sealant would be best to apply here when I put the pan back on? Will the stock gasket seal without anything else thrown in?

Uuuuummm I think that bolt is there to fix a hole in the block..... what i am wondering is where the hole came from,  I can't tell where that is.

Could that come from a large chunk of conrod flying through the side of the block?

That one right there. I think the ground strap was connected to that bolt, not that that means anything.

Tha'ts what happens when a bolt is driven into blind hole and

bottomed out.  Those two other bolts don't look like they should be there.  What were they used for.?  Aren't they too low on the block for the mount?

They hold that bracket on. This is a tii engine.

Just got through building a tii engine (early '72 with plastic intakes.)  No threads sticking out...

That could have been smacked by a rod at some point and damaged an already weak area

This is actually a few days work, but here it goes.

So all of the welding was done, I stripped most of the paint from the engine bay, treated the areas that needed it with POR15, seam sealed all of the joints, and shot everything with an epoxy primer. I’m going to let this set up overnight and I

intend to apply color tomorrow. It’s not perfect, but I think it’ll still present well and it will keep rust at bay for a long long time. I’ve been glass

bead blasting/painting just about everything else from the bay also. Looking forward to reassembly.

Leave it?  JB Weld? File it kinda smooth so that the gasket will kinda seal.
