Not with an 11mm crows foot. Just did both sides on my blue ‘73 in less than 20min the other day;

And that included jacking the car up & removing the wheels?

On the ugly car, which sat for a dozen years before I got it I replaced EVERYTHING in the hydraulics other than the T between the rear lines (yes I bought Cunnifer lines and bent and flared them myself) because I DON'T want to mess with the hydraulics again!* :D

That took more than 45 minutes ?

For those less masochistic, buy AceAndrew's pre-made lines.

Cheers,

*Other than an occasional brake flush.

I did all the hard lines and flexible hoses, the engine bay is a total bastard with the engine in!!

and  managed to slice my hand open on that bloody front brake bracket in the picture, so be warned if you’re working near it, maybe wrap it up and insulate it as it’s very sharp and even more exposed when the hoses aren’t on it.

I’ve always kept a fire extinguisher in my trunk, stored with the rest of my tools and spare parts stash.  Accepting the reality that the greatest likelihood of a thermal event is while on a road trip to an event. When on an extended road trip everything is safety store in the trunk. This paints a bad picture of a fire growing while I am unpacking my goods.

Functionality over aesthetics!!  Hope I never have to prove myself correct.

Spent a few hours cleaning/reshimming/lubing a vac adv distributor for my ‘68 that for some unknown reason had a mech adv only distributor installed on it. Very satisfying. I know it’s not the correct distributor for my vintage, but at least it has vac advance.

I still intend to run it on my Allen Distributor machine to plot/adjust the curve, but at least now it’s “ready to go”.868643C2-3DE2-45A0-9910-2DB61A06492C.thumb.jpeg.49974d0e9bb07ce78f65a1ae11e8a225.jpeg0C1132E0-A254-435B-B1CA-683D19216F62.thumb.jpeg.7d7154f45f70caada6912f9890e3c18f.jpegCB46DED8-06FF-4488-B6C9-FC51CE74663E.thumb.jpeg.ddc5b82f85f7bece847aeb6ba1e305bc.jpeg

I did a quick rinseless wash on the ole gal and took her to Super Car Sunday held at the new location at a local college parking lot.  Just a wide variety of cars show up to this weekly event.  I was the only 02 in attendance which isn't all that unusual.  It would be nice to see some other 02s in the SoCal area show up !!  Heck I'd even get excited if Ray showed up in the ugly car :)

    BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

    Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

    History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

    In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

    BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
