They are also neccessary for those of us that have to park on the streets in big cities. Unless you like coming back to your baby only to find someone has parked by ear and run straight into your center grill and/or taillights.

I have one! Bought it for this job. It took something like 300 pumps to get it up to 15 psi when I was testing it without brake fluid. I hope it’s easier to get it up to pressure when it has fluid in it.

After 35 years of having those diving boards, I can't wait to throw them in the bottom of the river, replaced with a Kamie repro and euro rear chrome. Facelift time..

I am somewhere in the middle of all of these. I actually have a pair of early bumpers and the blunttech bumper kit ready to go but I am also considering just tucking the diving board bumpers and drilling the front for running lights. 2002iii makes a good point though! I have personally witness many people parking by feel here in Seattle. It’s part of the reason why my daily is one of the first gen Honda Elements with the unpainted bumpers!

I like big bumpers and I can not lie....

As long as they're tucked properly.

I'd recommend against using it with fluid in the Motive Products tank. In my experience, that wound up making a big mess when disconnecting at the master cylinder, and the brake fluid caused the clear plastic hose to deteriorate. Instead, I use a baster to suck most of the old fluid out of the reservoir, fill it with new fluid, then use the MP unit just to apply pressure. Works great with no mess, though you do have to disconnect and top off the reservoir a couple of times.

Something isn't sealing correctly if it takes that much pumping.

I always run mine as Dave does.

The surgical tubing on mine gave up last year anyway, though. Old, it was...

I think they changed the tube material at one point also.

Cheers,

For future reference, what I told @popovm via pm, is 65.  65 licks to get to the center, oh wait, to pump up the bleeder, with no fluid, at 5k feet elevation, to 15psi.  All y'all at lower elevations should take fewer pumps.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
