What did you do to your 2002 today !

Got the window back in and working. Without touching the door hinge bolts in the process, now the door doesn’t lineup right anymore.  WTH.  I have to slam it to close now.   Is the weight of the glass & door hardware enough to do that?  Weird.

I finally got around to installing the adjustable alternator bracket I bought from Themis (great seller btw) and installed a new belt to stop some squealing.  Just wondering, how hard should it be to turn the fan by hand.? Definitely a little harder with new belt. Belt has teeth on outside thick part so it’s on right :)

do you have the plastic corn kernel on the latch?

Looks good from here.  I'm enjoying watching all you have done on your car.  Not seeing a side view passenger side mirror yet but I think I see the mounting holes.

What is the difference between your 400 and mine? Is yours a bit earlier? Mine has the full chrome hinge, and no headrest.

Those adjusters look like a nice product.  Don't make the belt too tight though, or it can cause the alternator and water pump bearings to wear prematurely.

 

Are the pulleys running parallel to each other? 

 

Did you replace the rubber bushings in the alternator while you were in there?  They get gooey when exposed to oil and then the pulleys go out of alignment, causing belt wear and squealing.  There are polyurethane bushings available that last longer than the rubber ones.

Finally got around to replacing the door brakes with new parts from Harry Davis. Pretty simple and what a nice improvement over the free swinging old doors.  Best I can tell the door cards had never been off and doors are 100% original, broken parts laying in the bottom!

They fit into the alternator body at the pivot point.  I wouldn't bother to remove it if the pulleys line up. 

 

If the belt isn't running straight between the pulleys you might as well order replacement bushings.  It won't hurt to run it as-is in the meantime, if it's just a little off.

Yes.  I think I found the problem and I'm pretty sure I know how to fix it, but remain stymied as to how it occurred.  It was shutting smoothly before I put the window mechanism and glass back in.  It’s binding at the top front of the door.   A comparison between the working drivers door and this one (passengers) in pics
