50mm center cap roundel??

Does anyone know a model that has a 50mm wheel center cap?  Motorcycle maybe?  I just got a set of Schnitzer type 1s, I have plastic center caps for them, but they're just plain silver.  The only thing I could find was the old school motorsport roundels on Ebay.

Just looking for #7, I don't need the actual cap.

I'm probably just being thick, but if you want #7, why don't you simply buy # 7?  There are always plenty on eBay:

But you might be able to get a better price from your local BMW dealer or BluntTech.

Good luck,

Steve, that part is a 45mm diameter roundel; he wants a 50mm one...

I don't know, Mike.  He says he has a "50mm wheel center cap" -- which is relatively close to the e30 center cap.  He may well be looking for a 50mm roundel, but that's not what I'm reading.  And a 45mm roundel, especially a good-quality, readily-available OEM part, is not a terrible answer even if you'd ideally like a 50mm roundel!

Awaiting clarification...

Best regards,

Steve

It's funny how we read things differently--I read it as needing a 50mm diameter roundel emblem to fit a 50mm cap.  So you may well be correct, that the 45mm roundel will fit his 50mm cap...

I think the one used on roundie hubcaps is too large, and it's convex anyway so wouldn't work on a flat surface.

cheers

Correct,

just looking for a 50mm roundel itself. The PO had the 45s on the wheels and it just didn't look right.

Got it!  Mike read you correctly!

I've done similar searching to find roundels for vintage center caps for Borrani's and Alpina rims (which tend to be 58-60mm in diameter and 45mm was too small).  I had some luck finding unusual sizes by searching both eBay and the Web with searches such as "BMW roundel 48mm", "BMW roundel 49mm", "BMW roundel 50mm", etc.  Some of what I found was non-OEM, and of un-usable quality.  But I do have one set of center caps with roundels from a BMW bike.  I can't remember clearly, but they might be 52 or 54mm (could they have been from the gas tank?).

Regards,

Steve

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
