Early motor mount

Naz

Recommended Posts

I did indeed get these mounts round the wrong way back in June, and come August my early drivers side mount is buggered too. So what to do as your eBay purchase looks positively good value Naz.

a/ Pay 119€ from BTS autoteille

b/ pay 141€ from Stephan Reis!

c/ pay $84 from Ireland, plus their outrageous $25 international surcharge, plus delivery, plus 20% vat, plus import duty

I think I just answered my own question and will give BTS a shout. That's a pricey bit of rubber - how's your new one holding up Naz?

Anyone seen any other options in the last few months? Will ask on FB too

Thanks Naz. I posed the same question on the NK Facebook group and Walter in Germany (with the awesome malaga 2.5 s10 engined NK) offered to send me a good used mount FOC, what a great community. I've ordered a pourable 2 part urethane and will incase the mount, making it a little stiffer but hopefully more durable without the extra NVH from a full urethane mount. We'll see.

So... we pulled the engine out of the CS yesterday and the driver's side mount is serviceable but it's very squishy... it's likely not going to last long.

BTS is basically my only option for a rubber mount?

That's what I just found Ed. I'm waiting for some pourable urethane to arrive in the post and I'm going to firm up the original and incase it, which hopefully will make it last a bit longer. So may this is an option for your original mount? Will let you know how I get on, should be done in the next week.

Cheers, Nick

Got my free old style motor mount from Walter (thanks again Walter) and just got a kit of urethane today. No idea if it will last, whether it's a good idea and whether it will extend the life of the mount, but it was quick and good fun and very rewarding. Also made a very tasty coleslaw and garlic mayo.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
