....I think we need a whole new thread... the DREAD thread... I cannot count the times I have come to a point in the project where my stomach aches and fear rushes over me when I think... "I will never be able to do this...", but then after hours/days of pondering and banging at the problem something wonderful gives way and that sense of elation comes over you.

I sensed both of those bookmarks in your post..carry on and conquer!!!!

PS - My current nausea is.."How the hell am I going to pay for all of these parts I am ordering !" Or more accurately.. "How can I possibly hide the fact from my wife!"

Oh lord. LOTS of dread moments in in the last few years.

Dread: I just handed a guy an envelope of money, I just noticed 3 more problems I didn't when I first looked at it, and I'd like to drive away but the key is stuck in the driver-side door.

Dread: Going to the gas pump to fill up because the gauge is on 'E', wondering why it only took 4 liters of fuel, then realizing you don't have a functioning gas gauge.

Dread: Driving from Amsterdam down to Freiburg Germany and it gets dark and realizing the only forward lighting you have are parking lights and High-beams. (please no cops please ( *waves* sorry for blinding you! ) no cops please no cops. F%&k now it's raining.

Dread: Anything to do with electrical that isn't my work.

Dread: Anything to do with Rust.

Dread: Anything to do with TUV

I could do this all day. Haha.

The oil drip on the bottom of the bell housing

What did you lube the inside of the seal with?

I used to use grease, and noticed that my seals tended to seep.

I since changed to engine oil, but that was only 8-10 years back,

so I'm not a long- term taste test yet...

First step in resurrecting my tii will be removing the several years' accumulation of dirt, oil, nasty stuff from the engine bay and chassis. I'm just dreading it, need to just do it and be done...

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
