Has anyone been able to get in contact with this guy?  I've called four times this week with no answer.  I'd like to go see it this Saturday...

Oh wow, thanks for the pics.  Body looks pretty good from the photos (better than mine), but there are some strange things about this car... listed as a '65, but has the non-dimpled nose trim and an 8-slat grille.   It also appears to have a CS steering wheel.  I'm curious to see if the hood badge has the Serif font.  Still might try to go see it Saturday.  I need parts haha

@duggi what are you looking for? I still have a few late nk stuff laying around. I really dig the dealer badge on that red car!

I'm really not that far from this car If you come down this Saturday, maybe I got some of the parts you need!

@MOJOJOY I'm currently looking for a 2.0 engine (mine appears to have a 1.8) and need four doors and a sunroof panel (mine are all pretty badly rusted).  I also need the trim that goes on the driver's side door, bumper parts, tail lights, front headlight lenses, sway bars, shocks, etc etc etc.  Unfortunately I'm storing the car about 200 miles away and haven't seen it since late last summer.  I should be going up to start to disassemble it in a few weeks, but that keeps getting pushed.  At that time, I'll have a better list of my needs.

well it can't be a '65 anyway as the 2000 was introduced a year later. Looks solid, just well abused and sun damaged. Doesn't look like the original engine either.

I realized that after I posted haha.  Still trying to get in contact with the guy so I can see it tomorrow.  If I'm able to make a deal, I'll likely be parting it...but that really depends on how it's condition compares to my current 2000...might go the other way around if it makes more sense.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
