This just came up this morning and It looks like about as nice a Tii as you could hope to find in mostly non-restored condition.  I kept looking for the usual telltales and could not find any.  Original nose panel, plastic runners, one repaint thirty years ago.  It appears to have a crack-free two piece dash AND a second NOS two piece dash in the spares collection.  Add to that a seller who has been a perfect steward for the car and has represented it honestly in the description and photos and bid with confidence.

Anyone here from Michigan who has seen this at local shows?  I bet it looks as good or better in person.

Yep, I'd rank it with the beautiful Inka example that sold recently out of Reading, PA on eBay:

The Inka car sold for $43K on eBay.  I don't know what the current BAT premium is.  It seems to range from 0 to 50% over eBay prices -- a "$25K" tii that sold for nearly $40K on BAT comes specifically to mind.....

I hoped the Inka example on eBay would go higher.  Maybe this Verona example can push through the ceiling with BAT's help!

Regards,

Steve

Sold for $50,000

39 years ago I paid $5,000 for mine

I coughed up $3650 in '87.  Was a killer.  My Celica sold for $2500 so I had to come up with a grand.  Good thing I had that great forklift job that summer.

All kidding aside, I'm a little baffled / shocked / reeling from this price.  I do think there is a dynamic w/ BAT where, if the peanut gallery likes a car...that effect can push a car up.

The problem with this is that; those not-in-the-know, price their cars like it's comparable to the last high priced car sold in market regardless of quality. Same effect can be seen by all the parts trolls.

Just because Mobile Tradition prices a new part they carry only a few of for $600 does not mean your used and semi worn out part is equal in value or half even.

But then again there are a lot of new folks to the 2002 world and they just don't know any better.

Sigh: I am gonna get into 70's AMC's before all the fun is lost to inflation.

But what do I know
