Stacked MOMO Prototipo 350mm

Lovely stacked vintage 350mm Momo Prototipo with BMW horn button included. Wheel is in great shape, the leather is nice and firm with a lovely brown patina, tight all around with stitching in perfect shape. There is one battle scar (please see picture) between the 12:00 and 1:00 position on the wheel, but it is very shallow and not an issue. These stacked Protipos are from around the early-mid 70's are period correct for any 2002 and are getting harder and harder to find in this kind of original condition!

Gorgeous!

I think I'll follow suit and do a mass purge or some of my nicer steering wheels. I have a 911 to keep on the road and lord knows nothing about them is cheap.

Thanks bud! I hope you have A LOT of steering wheels ;)

You know I want dibs on anything Momo related - I only sell these to buy more heh

Are there different models of Momo Prototipo or is this the only model?

Hi Driv3r, I am certainly no expert, but if I understand your question correctly the Prototipo is one model in the Momo line of steering wheels. There are other similar wheels in their line up such as Monza, Elite, etc, but the Prototipo model and design has been around a long time and continues to be made. Momo did not start dating their wheels until around 1976 - so anything without a date was produced prior to that. The "stacked" MOMO emblem was made during the early to mid '70's and is very desirable almost collectors or period correct steering wheels. But to circle back to your question, a Prototipo is a Prototipo the only difference being the size and the date it was produced. The older Momo wheels that retain their original leather - like mine for sale here - are by far the most collectable and certainly the coolest ;)

Hope that helps! John
