Insurance needed

I'm looking for new insurance for my 1976 BMW 2002. It's a very nice car that I'll need to base the insurance off a declared value. My one problem is that I've had a couple of accident in the last few years but no tickets. I started with Hagerty and they were not interested because of the accidents. Does anyone know where I might go to inquire about insurance? Any idea's would be appreciated.

Grundy, JC Taylor & American Collectors offer agreed value coverage, but some owners here have been able to piggyback with their "normal" car policies, like State Farm that Andrew mentioned.

If you're military or ex military, you can't beat USAA.  I've used 'em since 1967 and they've insured my '02s since I first bought 'em.  

 

Several years ago my pristine E30 318is (all original paint and interior, 118k miles) got caught in a Kansas hailstorm--broke the windshield, huge dents all over the car.  Adjuster took one look at the car and said, "we'll fix it, no problem."  Dent removal guy made it look like new--at considerable cost--hood, trunk lid, headliner and sunroof had to come off.

USAA was using American Collectors for its classic car insurance - don't know if that has changed in the past 10 years.

 

I went to the Heacock link that Don provided above for a quote = cheaper than my current Hagerty policy.  But we know the true value of an insurance company is in its service when making a claim, not the policy rate.  Thankfully I've never had to make a claim on the tii!

Mike, is do you have the collectors insurance through USAA or regular coverage? I just tried calling them and the guy I spoke to at Customer Service said that getting full coverage on my car wouldn't do much for me since their normal policy isn't stated coverage. He thought the pay out may not be much.

Mine is a daily driver and not garaged and I use it for real estate business so I'm having a hard time figuring out what my best options are.

 

I had Wawanesa and my rate just went up 40% for no reason.

You're probably not going to find an agreed value policy for a non-garaged daily driver.

Your rates did not go up for no reason. For the last couple years, a perfect storm has been brewing where increased accident severity is combined with increased accident frequency. It's hitting the entire industry and everyone is raising rates to one extent or another.
