Rear tow eye alternative ?

I put my car on amtrak's Autotrain

it takes you and your car from Sanford

florida to Lorton Virginia

during the trip they must secure your

car with tie downs

they always attach to the rear tow eye

which is part of spare tire well, it pulls it down. I'm worried this will warp the well or detach the eye.

i need to engineer a alternative or provide

them with something else to attach to

all suggestions appreciated

Look at my build thread.  Details on putting tie down eyes on the subframe.  Ez!

Or if you have a squaretail, there are details in my thread about converting center bumper shock to a tie down point.

They don't use wheel webs or tie to the subframe?

They tie to rear sway  bar and front steering rods

as well as almost pulling the rear toe

eye from spare well

There are tiedown points behind each rear wheel...

You might need to get hooks for them to be usable.  I use shackles.

If your front loops are solid, those work best in front.
