FS: Vintage 13" Enkei Apache - $350 shipped

Hi Folks,

I lurk here a bunch but don't post often. I spend way too much time over on www.e9coupe.com. I have a set of 13x5, 4x100 wheels with an offset of ET12. These are vintage Enkei Apache. They are three piece wheels that have been welded together at the factory (as have most vintage Enkeis). The faces are in very good shape and you could get away without respraying them. The lips are in fair shape. The curb rash actually isn't terrible, but there has been a few hard hits against the lips over the years.

I've sold a number of wheels and I always have them tested at Complete Wheel Repair in Seattle. Of course I'm putting it all out there but I like people to know what they are getting. According to the tech/owner: "They are all a bit wobbly but only one is technically out of spec". He wrote the highest runout value on each wheel and provided detailed specs (which I can share) on the wheel that was out of spec.

I'm a huge fan of BBS E50's and E30's, and these are Enkei's response to E30's. If they fit my lug pattern, I would cut the welds off the faces and build some 15's out of them. If anyone is interested in that I am building a set of staggered WEDS for myself and have done a lot of researching and price comparing.

I'm asking $350 shipped to the lower 48. I will ship them elsewhere but I can't offer free shipping. I also have a set of period correct center caps from my early 80's Enkei 92's. I would be willing to sell those, and I have a set of stainless BBS Mahle caps if you want these to look like E30's.

You can probably guess that this is the bent wheel :)

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
