Which SuperBrightLEDS Bulbs Do I Get for the Turn Indicators

I bought my front amber turn signal LED lights from amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01GC2G79C/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also had to change my flasher unit in order for these lights to work correctly.

If you want white LED lamps for the dash lights: https://www.amazon.com/Yorkim-Generation-Interior-Replacement-10/dp/B00JRE38EA/ref=sr_1_4?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1478740422&sr=1-4&keywords=t10+led

I went with blue: http://www.ebay.com/itm/110937467451?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT  The blue LED lamps were wider than the openings at the back of the instrument clusters.  I have to partially open the cluster to fit these LEDs.

I bought these for these for the license plate lights:  http://www.ebay.com/itm/251482780911?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT  These were just a bit short.  I bent the contacts to make them fit.  I recommend buying the 31mm version for a better fit.

Best,

Which flasher unit?   superbrightled product or the NAPA version???

I tried a Tridon electronic 3 prong flasher unit "recommended" on the RockAuto site but it didn't work ....

I tried both.  For reasons unknown to me, the NAPA flasher produced really weak flashes in my '72.  The superbrighteled's https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/flashers-load-resistors/cf13gl-02-led-bulb-electronic-flasher/782/836/ worked.  The terminals are marked 31, 49 and 49a.  It was easier for me to match the original flasher.

Hey SOT hijack here. Does anyone find that their LED bulbs flicker when switched off but the engine is running?

I Installed a pair in my sidelights that look exactly like these but were cheap on eBay and sent directly from China

https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/bayonet-bulbs/ba9s-led-bulb-9-smd-led-tower-ba9s-retrofit-rvb/2542/#/tab/Specifications

Now speaking to a few people they have suggested that because they are cheap they have a low forward bias voltage so are energised by small spikes seen on the open sidelight circuit when they are turned off. At idle the sidelights (located within my H4 headlamp units) twinkle along merrily.

Now the Superbright LEDs seem to be quality (2 year warranty, 5 times the price of the eBay ones) but they do look exactly the same.  If nobody else has seen this with these LEDs then I will give them a shot to see if they cure my twinkle.

There should not be any leakages or small spikes when they are turned off.  Having said that, a few electrical gremblins that may cause such spikes:  intermittent short in the circuit, faulty relays, and faulty on/off switch.

For my side marker light, the white LEDs did not look good.  They were pinkish as seen through the red lens.  So, I used these:  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007USDUWK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Best,

"...the black/ white to P, green/yellow to L and green/ violet to X and it worked perfectly. I tried it with both blinkers and hazards resulting with the dash light blinking, too. " from oh2fly.  This instruction is for the NAPA flasher. Sorry, I do not know how to cross-quote from a different  posting.  It worked.  But, on my car, the flashes were very weak and the dash light did not blink.

If you use the Superbrightled's flasher, then, black/ white to 31, green/yellow to 49a and green/ violet to 49.  On my car, I had to hook up another flasher to the brown wire to drive the dash light.

Good luck.

Before you order, be sure if your front turn lights are dual filament (1157 bulbs) or single filament (1156 bulbs). The original ones on my '72 were dual, and the new ones that I got from McMillian are single (they use a small separate bulb running lights).

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
