Double barrel fuel pump vs. single?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

About to purchase a '72 2002 and it needs a fuel pump according to the owner.

I went ahead and purchased #13 31 1 265 192 which was used with the double barrel but it turns out its a single barrel which I've read requires #13 31 1 252 506.

My question is will the #13 31 1 265 192 pump work with the single barrel carb?

Thank you .

Regards,

Seth

It will work if it fits around the various hoses around the manifold.

Is this a long or short neck pump, do you know?

have you got the correct push rod for your pump?

Can you get a bit further away?!  Seriously, stick the phone/camera near the fuel pump & give us a better look.

Thanks!

You have got the long neck version as there is the pipe from the manifold to the water neck running underneath.

Try this post it has some info.

I think you need to get a leaf blower before you order a fuel pump.

I have used both the late style (sealed) fuel pump and the early style (comes apart) on my '69, and both fit fine.  In fact, the OEM (late style) pump on my '73 rubbed against the air cleaner and finally wore a hole in the pump's upper cover.  Had to take the cover off, solder up the hole and then glue a rubber pad to the air cleaner to prevent that happening again.

Thanks guys. Yeah, the car is not yet in my possession, so cleaning the leaves and such will be a few days. I am trying to get parts together to hopefully start it up this weekend and drive it home.

Just gave Steve a call at BluntTech and he knew just what I needed.

Many thanks. Wish me luck!

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
