Yup, it was a good turnout of '02s. Did anyone get a final count?

Great seeing the old faces and meeting some new ones!  It was by far an 02 heavy event. More 02s than anything else!!!  Very cool!  My ONLY gripe is that we need more vendors. I had a pocket full of cash and wanted to buy some things and there were just a few 02 vendors. With so many 02s this year maybe the word will get out and the vendors will show up in masses next year. Anyway it was a good event!  Anyone get one of those burgers from the pink truck?  I was tempted but the line was long...how were they?

I agree ..more vendors would be great...as well as the old school days of attendees showing up with parts for sale!

And in regards to Baby's Burgers..   Fat Burger is still king!

Yes I agree!  A nice swap meet type vibe.  Oh and glad I didn't miss out on a good burger!

What a great time, I had some interesting conversations on things both '02 and otherwise, what a great group of people to hang with! This was the first time I've displayed my car after a seven year restoration (still things to do) and I was so happy to get my car there. Without this group and website it would have been an insurmountable task. IMG_1321.JPG

Wow what a great show, sad I missed it, first I've missed in years but my niece is getting married in Disney World so we flew out to Florida Saturday morning. They are flying in from England.  Keep the photos coming.

Here's the link to my 204 photos from the show. Great to see a lot of friends yet wanted to meet more '02ers from this forum and thread.

A fantastic gathering yesterday !!

jrhone and arminyack,

re. "best burger on the planet" ....  that would be this place.  Perhaps a phone call to them next year will bring their truck on-site ...... http://www.originaltommys.com/shack-on-wheels/

p.s.  an idea:  nametags.  Such makes the community that much more personal and personable.  I only know a few people by sight.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
