Photo Request-Lowered Polaris with polished Ronal R10's?

Hi guys! I'm debating a change of wheels...

I've got a set of fairly nice BBS RS 001's that need the outer lips polished or replaced. They're perfectly round, but have a little bit of curbing, and the clearcoat has flaked off a good portion, allowing them the oxidize. RS's are the stereotypical wheel upgrade for our cars, (For obvious reasons, they go great together), so I'm thinking about trying something different. Getting Polished SS Lips+new hardware for 4 wheels is a pretty expensive affair, I'm contemplating spending that money on a different direction and either selling the RS's, or rebuilding them down-the-line.

The wheels I've been looking at at the Ronal R10 Turbos, but without the debossed "TURBO" logos etc. That gets a little gaudy to me.

Does anyone have any actual photos of these wheels on a Polaris Car? I did some photoshop action to throw em on some old photos of Brunhilde, but there's no substitute for seeing them actually on a car. I'm mostly interested how they look 3/4 view. I've been checking em out on VW's and they look a little chunk, but I LOVE the turbine look.

Maybe... ;) you've got dibs as long as you're willing to ship em from EU

I enjoy paying astronomical shipping prices from the motherland, so we're good there.

But yes, I would love to refurbish a set of BBS RS 001 wheels.

Yah... I'm not great about caring for original optics.

If I were made of money and they made my size, I LOVE the HRE 935's. But not in white.

Geez- these look even harder to clean than E30 bottle caps. My fingers hated it when I washed the set that came on my tii.

Hah! Naaaah, easy. They have a giant flat front face that's easy to wipe down. :) and they cover your dirty brake/rotors/drums.

RS's, however..... If you've got a set of aggressive brake pads in there that get dusty, cleaning out all those nooks, crannies, and around the bolt-heads is a huge PITA.

I too really appriciate the Ronal R10 alloys for their cool turbine like design.  However, to my eyes at least, they just don't suit the 02.  On an E30 maybe?  The Ronals have that 80's era feel to them.  But not on a 02 please.

I for one kinda like the Ronal R10s, as ai think they look a lot loke the Mahle factory alloys. On the right car, square light, dark color... They look good. The eighties were a period too. Here's my Dad's Tii with it's eighties wheels, ATS Cups. I'm a big fan of multiple sets of wheels, for different moods.

Exactly my thinking... The R10's would be a cruising wheel for lookin' good, not a performance one. Kinda like a dress shoe. If I liked 'em, I've thought about tracking down some little Borrani's to widen out and put something nice, fat, and sticky on as a play-shoe :)

Some wheel cleaner spray and a power washer blasts the dirt right off!

Tom- you have posted this car before wearing slot mags.  Do you recall the brand and size?  Were they American Racing, Western or perhaps Rocket?

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
