What tire pressure do you have in the front tires?

Put 34 to 36 lbs in the fronts and I bet you'll find it's much easier to steer. Put about 2 pounds less in the rears for best handling balance ( as a general rule)

In the late 70's I met a Viet Nam vet in the bay area who had lost 3 fingers and a hunk of his left hand in the service, he had adapted the pump and power steering box from a Bavaria and it looked like it fit the steering box mounting on the 02 well, I don't know if you could find any of that gear in usable shape anymore but it has been done

Please do a search on this topic- Think it has been covered a few times. There is a 2002 owner here in VA with turbo Nissan engine, rack and pinion steering and custom suspension. It is crazy fast.
