Ha, I said it was 309 cars older than mine.  My arithmetic skills are lacking today.

2762958 - 289 = 2762669 (is the VIN on the Ceylon car as stated on BAT)

Forum member Davo's car.  My cheat sheet of tii VIN's says that VIN 2762669 was likely manufactured on October 10, 1972, although Davo states it was manufactured October 23, 1972.

Unless the car's bottom is gone (beyond the obvious spare tire well), there's real potential here!

Steve

That same strut top dust cap is cracked on mine.  Must be a roundie thing.

That car is the 39th '73 off the line (they began with 2762630)--but it should have a black interior with the Ceylon paint, not tobacco.  The carpet is correct:  "salt & pepper" which is what would have gone with a black interior.

Definitely potential there, so long as some of the missing bits (wrong dash, no air cleaner) can be rectified.

Someone snap it up.  Ceylon is a rare color.

Saw it a few weeks back at Bimmers Independent Repar shop on their lot on El Camino Real in San Carlos, interesting to see it turn up fs.  Has potential, ceylon is a cool color pretty rare as well.

My, originally Ceylon, car is 926 away from that car.

Black interior, salt, pepper and dirty carpet was factory.

Looks like the dash was replaced, since there is no clock hole (or clock).

Dash crack are pretty much the same as mine :)

bracket on the back of the log is missing from mine

My '73 didn't have that...

What's with the intake log?  Older/newer?  Mine doesn't look like that.

Well, it's a U.S. '74 model accumulator (a.k.a., plenum or "log") based on the extra fitting between the number 1 and 2 intake runners -- for the vacuum limiter valve found only on U.S. '74 models.  But I am not familiar with the (a.) blank-off plate on the right side of the accumulator; or (b.) the arrangement of the crankcase ventilation hose -- which might simply  be a means of addressing the engine's missing airbox.

Seeing that there's not much that can go wrong with an accumulator, I'd be curious why the original accumulator is missing and what other components might have been changed at the same time.

Steve
