WTB: Tii Distributor

1Eighteen

Recommended Posts

I am UK based, but will pay postage charges, if anyone has Tii Distributor or even the internals, so I can repair mine.  The spring posts on the centrifugal weights have been bent over by the condenser screw protruding through the case too far !!  Grrr !!!!!!  Idiot !!!

I've not pulled it apart yet to see if it can be repaired, but in the mean time, if anyone can help ?

Cheers

Wayne

Wayne,

Have you considered an Ireland Engineering  repo ? They come with an electronic igniter appear very stock

Having run one for a while I can report that they are improvement over points and condensers

If you are a "purest" to the  level of detail  that requires a stock OEM part then good luck in your hunt

Thanks RSTClark.  I hadn't considered that and I was going to go down the route of electronic ignition anyway.  I didn't even know there was an alternative.  I'll check it out thanks mate.  I'm not a purist.  I just want things to work, if there is a better more modern alternative, then that's all good as far as I'm concerned.

Recommend the 123 Ignition over the IE unit. I was running the IE for 3 years and the 123 is smoother and feels like I have more power. I have it set for the stock Tii curve.

I agree with you about the 123 tune disribitor  It is smooth and powerful  When I switched from the IE tii dizzy to the 123 tune ( usb model ) the car woke up

The 123s are a little pricey but worth it IMHO. Do a search there is an extensive thread about them including preferred curves for the mechanical and the vaccum advance. Adding vaccum advance is a big advantage for idle and crusing speeds

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
