Volvo 240 Radiator Conversion

I used the Volvo 240 radiator in a track car a long while back and had really good results and no problems with it.   I would like to do the same with a new build but don't remember several key points in the setup:

What expansion tank and connections are used?

What supports are used on the top and bottom especially for a car driven hard?

What hoses are used for the top and bottom to a standard thermostat and divider?

Pictures of your setup would be very useful.

Thanks

Sure it wasn't 240 calipers and 320 radiator?

That's my track car setup, and it's been fine...

Never heard of a 240 rad conversion... but then, I'd never heard of Taylor Dayne, either...

That makes two of us.

Actually i am using the tii struts, 320 hubs, and vented 5 series rotors up front with VW Passat calipers in the rear.  So it's mostly German.

The 240 radiator fits well in the '02 and, since it is a pressurized system, helps keep your system air pocket free.

Unfortunately my photographic memory lost the negatives for the exact setup for the Volvo radiator and thus the request for others to showcase their's.

I think yours might be unique- I'm in for pix, too, if anyone has more details.

Toby,

i am always curious too just like Alice.    (“Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice.)

Thanks for the responses.  i learned most of what i know about '02s many years ago from a certain R. Korman's crew chief who had his own independent BMW shop in Iowa.  We used the Volvo 240 on most high performance '02s because, at the time, there were no 320i's and Volvo parts were cheap!  i do have a 3 series radiator i can use but would like to replicate my original track car based on a '68.

I had searched the forum before and come up with a few threads regarding the Volvo radiator.  Unfortunately, none of them dealt in specifics or included defining photos for the parts and install.
