This sad Malaga example is for wishful thinkers.  Unless it finds an owner like stymee:

The seller might be able to eek out a few more bucks for this car, but I seriously doubt the car will be restored.  I believe it will be parted, if not now, a few years from now when an over-optimistic buyer realizes what he's bought: rust in the shape of a tii.  It looks like stymee's but without the shiny topside!

Regards,

Steve

That's what worries me about this 73 Colorado . . Maybe not as bad as stymees but still some concerning spots.

Sorry for the delay guys. I anticipate approving the listing today and then I believe it will go live in a day or two.  FYI -  Listing on BAT is a process and it takes time and focus for anyone thinking of going this route.  I'll update you once I hear back from BAT that it's up on their site.  TR

Kronos gets a prize!  I think its only been up for a few minutes. Let the questions begin.  Thanks everyone for your help getting to this stage and it will be interesting to see what the market is for a very original tii with some rust.  TR

Then I suppose there's this from Hagerty for a 1973 while 74 cars are slightly lower.

Current Values

  • #1 Concours$51,700
Condition #1 vehicles are the best in the world. The visual image is of the best vehicle, in the right colors, driving onto the lawn at the finest concours. Perfectly clean, the vehicle has been groomed down to the tire treads. Painted and chromed surfaces are mirror-like. Dust and dirt are banned, and materials used are correct and superbly fitted. The one word description for #1 vehicles is "concours."
  • #2 Excellent$30,900
  • #3 Good$18,700
  • #4 Fair$11,000

Value Adjustments

-15% for auto. +15% for sunroof.

But what do I know

That ain't a wish -- my wish is that TR would sell it to me for 6500, but I think those days are long gone haha.

Currently $6500, you may get pretty close to your wish. Two days left.

OK as I suspect you know my tii sold for $11,450.  The buyer is in Oregon and is a "car guy" who knows German cars.  It sounds like he plans to make a driver's tii vs. a show queen so I'm happy with the car's likely future.  Very sorry to see it go but it's the right time and hopefully I won't regret selling it too much.... :-)   TR

PS.  Listing on BAT was a bit of a pain in the neck but I like the fact that it's focused on serious car people vs. other auction/sale sites.  From my conversation with the buyer I believe the transaction will go smoothly.  TR
