Anti roll bar kit from WN

Hi,

 

I ordered the anti roll bar mounting kit from WN. Here is the problem:

 

1)The rubbers are too big and don't fit correctly on the M8x160mm bolt. The one on the left is the original one from the car. Anyone faced with this issue in past? I have written to WN about this glitch.

2) The anti roll bar rubber (new one from WN on right) doesn't have a slit to assist in fixating to the bar. Is this normal?

3)Is this rubber disc for the steering the correct one? Cause it has a different shape to the original circular one one my car.

I have used all three of these parts.  The anti-roll bar rubber parts in the original are very compressed from age.   I rigged a clamp or something to compress the new ones enough to start the nuts.  They work fine.  I cut a slit in the pivot bushings with a utility knife -- easy peasy.   The style of the steering coupler has probably changed over the years.  My original (76) was very similar in shape to the replacement. 

 

Oh - and you have (some of) the cupped washers reversed from the correct orientation in the roll bar links. They all point away from the rubber. See the parts manual if you don't believe me.

They have to compress a lot.  Mount the roll bar on the subframe first.  Assemble the link from the roll bar down through all the rubber bits into the control arm (at which point the last rubber bit will not go on yet.   Use a clamp to pull the roll bar down and compress the link until you can get the last rubber bushing, washer and nut started.  Tighten the nut, add a lock nut and you will have it.   Did I mention that they have to compress a lot?

Or...buy some urethane bushings--sway bar bushings are the one place on the suspension where urethane bushings won't make the ride harsher, as they only come into play when cornering.  While rubber bushings will compress, thus momentarily delaying the sway bar's function, urethane ones won't, so the sway bar immediately begins to counteract the car's tendency to roll.  

 

Besides, they're much easier to fit as you don't have to compress 'em, 'cause you can't!
