Carb on an EFI Manifold

I have wondered about the feasibility of modifying the stock manifold to take a large IDF carb. Maybe the conversion spacer / inevitable restrictions elsewhere in the manifold might not be worth it.

I'd bet you'd get some performance out of an IDF.  I still wanna try splitting the 38/38 to a dual single arrangement, so the outer barrel feeds 1&4, and the inner 2&3. 

 

DT, I really think you should try the 318 manifold.  They're almost free, it wouldn't take long, and it MIGHT just work.  Especially since you can tune the plenum

volume with Great Stuff from the bottom if you want to.

 

The stock manifold works pretty well for road racing- the improvements seem to be mostly in getting

more even distribution at the (small) plenum where the runners converge.
