Can anyone with a history here vouch for this seller?

We agreed on a price for an LSD, airdam, and euro turns (excellent price!!) but seller is asking for "friends and family" Paypal transfer. I normally send money this way for items ~$100, just to be a nice guy, but for this much money I'd rather pay the 3% myself for cheap insurance. Offered to do so, but seller replies with something about a new Paypal account and processing times, etc.

Name on seller's email account is Adam West (cool!) and he sent me links to photos on a Photobucket account under the name "Yohan Fernando (Wildbetta)"

Apologies to the seller if everything's legit, but does anyone know the guy, before I send my $$$?

Thanks!

Josh

Update: Sounds legit, see below...

I received a PM message on my Bimmerforums account from lagnnini (who I do not know) today alerting asking why I had not mailed out the parts and that there were folks who were upset on the 2002FAQ forum. So, I did a search on lagnnini and came across this thread.

I am not in any way affiliated with the seller "Speedracer."

He did buy a E21 LSD from me about 18 months ago. We traded a few parts (he got a set of fog lights and a vintage steering wheel from me) about 18 months ago as well. He wanted to buy a bunch of other parts from me and I sent him a link to my Photobucket account. He never bought any other parts.

It looks like he is using some images from my Photobucket account to sell parts that may or may not exist.

I noticed that the picture of the 4-spoke Alpina wheel posted on this thread is one which I traded with a local friend awhile back.

I realize that many of you don't know me on this forum but I am active on Bimmerforums and you can look me up there under Beam318ti and folks can vouch for me on the E21forum.

I am naturally annoyed that I got dragged into this, I hope all concerned either get your parts or money back.

I bought a Stahl header off of him.  Now when I search google, I find the same pic he sent me from a post that dates back to 2012....

I should have listened to my gut and not sent money via 'friend'  I knew there was no protection however saw that many had purchased parts from him so thought it may be ok.   $150  ($200 canadian) $ from my car fund now down the drain....

Guys, if you receive a "refund" please leave a note here indicating whether it was an actual Paypal refund or a separate payment, and (most importantly) the name and email of the account sending the refund.

If the money is coming back to you from a different account than the one you paid, it smells fishy. As if there weren't already enough layers to this smelly fish-shit sandwich, LOL.

BTW, has anyone besides danco_ received their money back?

Edit: for the sake of full transparency, here's who I sent my payment to, according to Paypal:

Update: received a full refund on the original transaction. Welp, that was fun.

Perhaps you should explain the "big misunderstanding" to those who you have inconvenienced. Along with full refunds, that is the least you could do. Edited by Beam318ti

Your name? I haven't seen you use your name on here, bimmerforums, your multiple facebook accounts, your photobucket accounts, your banned vortex account or anywhere else. Along with your multiple email addresses.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,
