How many lots did you bid on? All one lot?

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Well it was two lots. One lot had the ECU boxes and because I recognized the e30 m3 ecu, I bought that lot for cheap.

The second lot had the majority (about 8 carts) of the parts. I bought that lot too. So in all, two lots. There was another guy who had some idea what they parts were worth, and we got into a bidding war. But money trumps logic in this case. I won. I think I even outbid myself once.

What did you pay for this?!

Not too much. About 12X the daily rental rate of a 17' Uhaul and 60 miles.

You seriously scored some gear.  Whenever you see things tie-wired you have race bits....and by the looks of the work on the quaife, someone knew what they were doing.  I would think you would probably do pretty well for yourself on the re-sale.

Thanks Mark.

Except I need to find the Porsche guys and unload this stuff. They probably have a better idea of what I have than I do.

I hate you a little right now.

It's all jealousy, though...

I'll send you some racecar parts. PM me your address.

The plot thickens.

Thanks for posting that by the way. I would have never figured it out on my own.

I'll start searching Craigslist for a 997 GT3 that needs a bumper and buy the car. Then I can have a complete set. Bumper and car.

Friend? Perhaps.

Enabler? Absolutely.

Does he know that you, like some others of us, have...a problem? A problem with...parts!

Sorry, Ryan,

It's just the envy talking...

Great score!

Steve

My name is Ryan and I have a problem

So I was deep cleaning my door cards at about 2pm today when I get a call from a bmw friend. He tells me he's at the South Coast Auction House going through the lots when he came across some car parts

Special thanks to our very own Ray Koke. He helped me load and unload all of this, while making a million witty and punny comments.
If Ray was wearing big baggy pants with heavy duty suspenders, I hope you did a shakedown when he left.

Google part numbers, make a good inventory, group things together logically and set up a new eBay account (or use your own). Box things up for shipping and get quotes in advance / investigate flat rate shipping. If you get organized you can make a killing on eBay, if not: huge PITA.
