Engine stumbling b/n 2K - 3K RPM (electrical issue aside)

I had the problem over the weekend and thought it was a bad fuel. The car has the problem early mornings getting better when it gets warmer. It misfires through the carb (is the carb dirty or water in the fuel ?) I changed points, condensor, distributor etc and made sure the timing is right (all electrical being out of the question). When I floor the gas pedal, it still stumbles but manages to go barely. I will open and clean the weber 34ICH carb and see if it is bad but what are the main causes of this problem ?

Thanks for the advise..

ps. I am listing free stuff that needs to be gone ASAP on the for sale board...in So.Cal

The coughing thru the carbs and the stumbling indicate a lean condition. Is your choke working properly?

That weber 34 ICH is made for a VW - does not work well on the 02. Get rid of that carb and install the original solex 36/40 if you plan to run a single barrel. Should solve that problem.
