i am glad i talked to the photographer at the beginning of the weekend, because it appears he only took pics of cars that indicated they were interested in buying his CD. No other 02s were photographed, although we had a great turn out of 02s for the weekend. That is a shame. There are 2 pics of a silver square light, who I did not know. But,none of my buddy's cars were pictured( so far- maybe more to come). Now I have to go through the CD and choose which ones i want enlarged for the walls.I can make my own 8 x 10s at home - just have to buy a lot of ink, but I want a couple big enlargements. All the track pics are 1.5 meg size, so I am reluctant to include them in the body of messages- without high speed connection,it probably takes forever to load. If they load reasonably fast with a 56k connection( i suppose that is a common analogue speed), let me know and I will post up a few. I can't wait to go to the next school and do it more and do it better!

Great picture! Do you know if there are any events like the one you did going on around Christmas? I'll be in San Rafael and would love to get some time out there if possible. Thanks, and post some more pictures if you get a chance.

I know a buddy once was able to post a link to his album on Fototime here, but I dont know how. All I know how to do is to post individual pictures from Fototime to the body of the message or as an image url. I will look at the Fototime page and look for an album link. that would work, i guess. here are some more....notsure where this is on the course...standard.jpg....entering Sess....standard.jpg...going through hairpin turn 11...standard.jpg...exiting Sess getting ready for fast section...standard.jpg....another section...standard.jpg entering another hairpin turn 7, i think....standard.jpgstandard.jpg

...the drivers get passed by the 02 when driven by a competent pilote. And this is when I have my fun, especially at Porsche club events where the size of your machine dictates your ability to drive... hum hum.

Of course the newer machinery is technically faster but as they say "It is not he size of the ... but what you do with it that makes the man."

It looks to be very well set up, AND it's the right color! I haven't had Molly on the track in about 3 years. I really miss it.

I have a hard time explaining to my dad why a smaller engined cars are beating the 02's durring the historic races we watch our where I live. He just doesn't understand that a good driver can make a car a WHOLE lot faster, and a not so good driver can't exploit a cars potential. I think he just does it to provoke me since i'm such an 02 nut. Ever since he got his New Cooper S, he thinks he's hot shit. It really bugs him when he asks what car i'd rather have if someone was giving it to me, and I say mine. Its true though.

Keep on truckin

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
