What is a good source for a blank to replace the hose fitting on the outboard end of the intake manifold? (smog equip removed) Looks like a 2.25 in. dia slug of 1/8 to 3/16 thick aluminum would do it but where doe one find small round alloy plates?

aluminum plug threaded into the hole (Earl's aluminum plugs are available thru Summit Racing among other places). If you tap it deep enough, the plug will be flush with the intake plenum, largely eliminating a source of turbulence.

I've cut out a plate of steel and drilled three holes in it to block

that hole off, and what a waste of time! If you just want to

block it off, take out the the threaded shoulder studs and find

3 bolts with matching threads that will bolt a plate of whatever

material you want over the EGR inlet. Use the cast fitting that

was on the manifold to mark the plate for drilling. Is there a

yardbirds near you? Go there!

Good luck,

Elliot

Actually the hole is small (~3/4" dia) and there is a small freeze plug that will fit perfectly. I believe it is a metric one. Check with a parts house.

Good luck,

If its the EGR inlet, the two manifolds i have are threaded and had a bolt/plug already in there.

Could it be that its a '76 or 49-state thing?
