mine has 11mm x35mm with 2 flat washers and a rubber bush. Not sure if I'm original though, 11mm is odd? and rubber bush looks homemade w/ small bit of rubber tubing.

bumper sections together, only longer. The square section under the carriage bolt head fits into the mounting slots on the bumper .

They should never be tightened very much, as they're designed to slip out of the slots if tapped (as when someone backs into you). that way it won't tear or bend the fender sheet metal.

cheers

Mike

from Maximillian. These little rubber parts space the bumper ends from the rear quarter panel. Tighten them only enough to slightly "mushroom."

Part # 5 071 710.

They're $.98 each.

Yeah, you can use a piece of tubing (if you have some lying around) or go down to the hardware store and waste a couple of hours and a gallon or two of gasoline, but hey, it's Saturday, anway, and you have to go there and get a new axe handle or a master link for the chain saw....
