Hello Rocky Mtn Group...a few of you have seen my car...unfortunately it is time to sell her...

The short story is I have 1976 with just over 46,000 actual miles on the car and only 27,000 on a factory crate motor (there is a story behind this!). I have had it since 1990 and it was stored in my Father's garage for 20 years. Just over 4 years ago I had the motor swapped and had the car shipped to where I live in Colorado. I have put 9,000 miles on it since, enjoying it on weekends. The tires have 9,000 miles on them and are the second set on this car. Other than the crate motor, it is all original. No cracked dash, all original glass, original Blaubunkt, and I have had the seats re-stuffed. It is a sunroof automatic. I have a 4 speed, long console, and shifter boot from the car I owned previously (a 74' owned in 1988-1990), that I intended to put in, that would come with it. I have other parts from that car that can go with it. It has the original Solex that is running great, but I have the Weber I put in my first car back in 88'. I know you all know that the Automatic has a larger tranny tunnel and is prime for 5 speed conversion should you choose. It has things that need to be done, but is solid. It has passed Colorado emissions all 4 years and I had the emission gear removed when the engine was swapped. I have all the emissions gear should you want to reinstall.  I have original invoice and documentation for the car.

I would consider selling her for around $8k  Here are some photos I took today.

Take care,

Steve Baker/ Littleton

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
