IT WILL BE A CHALLENGE ON A ROUNDIE
HERE IS A LINK TO THE ARTICLE AND ONE OF THE BEST 2002 SITES .
You need a wiper switch from a E3/E9 and the infamous Wisch/Wasch/Interval control module.
I have a .pdf file of the original instructions. It's not really very hard once you get the parts.
and wrote up some instructions so I wouldn't forget how to do it.
for round-lights a few weeks ago using an aftermarket control and a 3 speed fan switch switch - might want to look for that post.....
...since the early cars don't have the later underdash Wish-Wash relay. On cars from mid-'71 on, it'd probably be easier to change out the relay for an Intervall relay from a late '02 or a 320i, and change the speed switch on the dash to a three-position switch. I'd have gone that route if I could have, even though what I did got me variable-speed-intermittent wipers. The wiring plan I used would probably need to be modified some, since the early cars used an entirely different wiring setup. I've heard of several variations on wiring up the Intervall relay on later roundies -- check the archives here and on Roadfly.
