I got the results from the compression test for the

72 tii and it was 145, 145, 145, 125...

What should I do? What does this mean? I really

like the car, but this kinda changes the dynamics...

I need assistance please!!!

So I assume you are looking at this car to buy? If you are, that's a

tough call. If you alredy own it i would suggest driving it and it

may improve, if the car sat un-driven for a while

The result of that test is a good bargening tool, but it doesn't mean the engine is ruined, especially if the mechanic feels it's running smooth in other ways.

But these things are all going on 30 years or more, you have to expect that there are going to be some flaws. It's very unlikely that car is going to blow up on the way home just because of that test. In fact, I am surprised the other cylinders are doing so well. My test came out something like 120, 120, 110, 90; I paid $1k.

That's not a primo maintained BMW you've found, but most aren't.

surface rust in the spare tire well that could easily

be taken care of.

The driver's seat has a tear in it, but the rest of the

interior is cherry. The door panels are still virgin

and there are only a couple of cosmetic flaws (tiny

paint chips).

It started right up and it runs smooth. It's a really

hot lil' car.

I know there are plenty out there, but this one has a

lot of potential to restore.
