Need Help! Weber DCOEs Running Rich on Mains. Can't Lean Them Out

yeah, Blunt charged me $.01 for the gauge, make sure you get your royalty check MWHB. I think it's 2/10 of an AFR point lean, I'll post a thread before I call the vendor.

Daron, since I have a 50 pump exhaust, what size would you suggest I try?

Also did some more testing today. Drilled out the air bleed to 1.4. That didnt go to well. Everything was in the 13-14.5 range with lean popping, except the 3500 cruise which stayed at 11.

I had some 60f8 laying around, so I drilled out the air bleed to 1.35. Results:

125 main 175 air f9 tubes idles 60 fuel 1.35 air bleed

Mixture screws: 3.75 turns

Idle: 12-12.5

2500 4th gear: 12-13 no surge

2500 3rd gear: 13-14 very light surge

3000 4th gear: 11-12 no surge

3000 3rd gear: 12-13 no surge

3500 4th gear: 11-11.5 no surge

Normal acceleration: 11-11.5

WOT: 11.5-12

VERY similar to the numbers with the 55f9, but just a bit more rich at 3k and above. I think I still like the way it behaves with the 55s the most. I might try to drill out the 160 air I have to make it a 180 to see if that makes any difference at highway speeds. Going from a 125 main down to 120 does nothing.

You're jumping around with too many changes at once.  I think you should only play with your idle jets for now, don't drill those and swap mains at same time.  The idea is to document how the drilling affects the idle circuit, if you change the mains too then you don't know for sure what happens.  Put the 120 main and 180 air in there and leave it as you re-try the idle jet combos.  Then later you can play with the mains.

 

You can also run the idles again without the main stack to see how your low load/high rpm (or how high it will go) is affected.
