I think I have the affliction!

Loaded up the toolbox, loaded up the trunk, off to the local

salvage yards (Central Fl).

The goods:

For the ’72 tii

1 electric fan from a 7 series (bosch, 15”) will see if this fits, 2

electric fans from 320i, they had different mounting systems,

got both of them, 2 320i rearview mirrors, 4 dome light door

switches from 320i, 2 Recaro seats from a 320i, 1 320is

steering wheel, A couple of dash switches from a 320i, 318i

alternator with both mounting brackets, 3 auxiliary power

block thingies from Volvo 240s, complete VDO gauge set

from an Audi 4000 (pressure, temp, volts), two senders; one

from the Audi and one from a VW GLI

For the e28

AC dash switch, several of those tiny dash light bulbs, Interior

dash trim piece, fuses and relays.

For the e34

Little piece of plastic that is the radio search button, Glove

box latch, Light module and general control module (the light

module is a $340+ item!)

Could only find two 320s, several 318s with alternators still in

them. No 2002s, one e12, one ’96 528i and one ’96 M3.

Several e28 528s and many 325s.

There has to be some salvage yard employees with a shit

load of BMW trunk tools!!!!! I found none.

Wife doesn’t know what to think!

Had to share, thanks for reading.

Have to do some research to remember what years have the

better transmissions.

Many of the cars have no wheels and are sitting on the

ground. One yard has them stacked two high, so if you want

a tramission you can't even get to it and it may be damaged

because of the storage. Others had them with the wheels on.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
