Does anyone here know of a company that makes high quality "vanity" plates ?

looking to make some "vanity" plates for my 68 (black and yellow plates) also looking to make some for my e30.

I am mainly looking for aluminum raised lettering like our DMV issued CA plates. something that looks pretty close to those. I remember a company a while ago from a hot rod mag doing them but would not ship them to the state your in if your making "vanity" plates for the ship to state.

thanks-

When I was living in Alaska I bought a classic 1976 plate like this off of ebay.  Before I bought the plate, I went to the DMV site to see if that Vanity plate number was available.  It was, so I bought the plate off of ebay and when the new plates got there, I just put the new stickers on the old plate.

Nobody every knew the difference...

Really ? with the raised lettering and all ?

Yea they're plastic. I am sure they can order a metal one, but on the spot they make plastic ones with the raised letters and painted. They're pretty legit for just a fake plate. If it's something you are trying to register I wouldn't try the plastic

I bought 2 sets of reproduction vintage WA state plates from these guys http://www.licenseplates.tv/usa-state-plates.html and they turned out great. I had them put the original numbers on them that were on my cars in the early 70's. I knew these plates were not being used because I had thrown them away many years ago (dumb of me I know) but when we got the possibility of using old plates as our Collector plates in WA I wanted the original numbers on the plates. (legally we are not allowed to use reproduction plates but when I took these in to have them put on the registration they said OK and I'm sure no one will ever look at them again)

Plastic plates look like crap. Licenseplates.tv can't even make CA plates anymore. Good luck finding someone making Alu plates. If you do, order new ones and put your new stickers on the repro plates, that's what I did on my coupe.

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
