I TEST MARKETED MY FIRST ONE WRENCH DIZZY CLAMP

ON E-BAY LAST WEEK AND IT WAS A SUCCESS .

SOMEONE ON THIS BOARD COMPLAINED ABOUT THE 10 DAY AUCTION

SO I AM SELLING THE NEXT ONE IN 5 DAYS .

I AM REFINING MY MANUFACTRING PROCESS NOW SO I WILL

BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT COSTS TO MAKE ONE .

I WILL BE SELLING THEM OFF E-BAY .

It might only take one wrench to tighten, but it will corrode

shut and you'll need an air gun to release it (OK, only one air

gun, but still)

Fed up with years of needing two wrenches, last summer I had a friend weld a U shaped piece of scrap to a spare distributor bolt. Not as pretty as yours but gets it done. Good work RS!

OR THE OTHER WAY AROUND ? STAINLESS IS NOT BATTERY ACID .

ANYTIME A FREEOUS METAL IS IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH ALUMINUM ,

IT SETS UP AN ELECTROLISYS . THIS IS A VERY SLOW PROCESS THAT CAN

CAUSE THEM TO SEIZE .) THAT IS WHY STEEL LUGNUTS CAN SEIZE IN ALLOY WHEELS )IT TAKES YEARS .

IT DOESN'T MATTER HERE - ONLY THE ANTI TWISTY CAP ON

THIS BOLT IS STAINLESS THE REST IS PLATED STEEL .

THE SAME AS BMW USED IN THE FIRST PLACE .

Both SS and alloy are not corrosion-free, they corrode like hell, actually. Fortunately, the oxides on SS and alloy are not penetrable for more oxigen, so once there is a closed layer on the top the corroding stops. Unlike steel, which creates a penetrable oxide on top which allows more oxigen to enter deeper into the material.

Now for the Alloy and SS combo. When you connect these two, the oxide-layer that forms on them becomes one layer, connected to both the alloy and the SS. They don't get their own layer each. Hence, break out the heavy machinery to take them apart again.

Regards,

Hugo

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

    The BMW 2002 Production Run

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
