1969 1600-2 in need of rear hub!

Recommended Posts

Just tore my rear suspension apart and found 1 of my hubs on the verge of stripping out.

Anyways, I'm in need of a hub and hub castle nut. I'm not sure if its the same as 2002 but I count 15 splines on the hub. I would buy an axle shaft as well if someone has all 3 laying around. Shaft measures about 28mm dia where the bearings sit and approx 8" length.

Thanks

By looking at what you have pictured you do not have 1600 axel parts, this the weak link in a 2002-1600 , new class, e-21 320i , that is why bmw changed the design of rear axels from early cars, if you race or install very modern rubber you are going to end up with this problem. bmw never raced with this design it would not hold up.   I do have complete rear swing axels, if you have ever installed rear wheel bearings, axels or flanges, it is not just bolting the parts together. the preload on the bearings, must be shimmed correctly per bmw shop manual, or you will be taking it apart again.
