A little off topic, how hard is it to replace an E30 heater

Is your core leaking? or is it the plastic side plate near the control valve?

Anyway, pull the handbrake console, the front center console, and the under dash panels by the steering wheel. Put lots of old towels on the carpet. I would clamp off the heater hoses in the engine compartment to minimize coolant flow. After you have the front console out, you will see the plastic side of the heater core. This is usually where it cracks or the o rings fail. I know the core pulls out from the side of the box, but I am not sudre if you have enough room under the dash to get it out.
