Sounds really interesting.  Not sure I can swing it due to family obligations, but I'm certainly going to try.

OK guys and gals. I'm getting one more rally in before the end of the year
gone.

I'm pleased to present to you The Bohemian Run.

This is a roll call for all those who are interested. Similar format that
you're all familiar with. 1979 or older with the obvious continuation
models up for consideration. The rally is in the spirit of the european bla
bla bla. Well, It's actually in the spirit of all the other incredible
events we have out here you're all familiar with. With such an enthusiastic
motoring community what could go wrong! ;-)

Here are the details you need to know:

Dates: November 15th and 16th.

Rally Leaves from Petaluma, CA (just north of San Francisco)

You can find info here:
http://bohemian-run.squarespace.com

I'm actually hoping to do this for any proceeds to benefit a charity. I'll
keep you posted.

Pete

It was awesome! So much fun. We drove pretty hard through some challenging roads.
I had the only 2002—and Jim Huff brought his beautiful 1600 NK.

Quite a few 911s, a very fast Alfa Giulia Super, a sweet little Cortina, Pete's Merceds… Lots of variety.

I will be getting my photos processed in a week or so and will definitely post them.

In the meantime, here are some instagram shots pulled from the #bohemianrun tags of the car and some of the Polaroids Meigan took along the trip.

Very cool. I'm going to have to make sure I do that run next year.

I'm contemplating pulling together a drive over thanksgiving on some of the same roads but sticking to Marin/Sonoma. Care to help me plan a route?

I wasn't able to make the Bohemian Run but I'd love to get in on that!

BMW Neue Klasse - a birth of a Sports Sedan

Unveiling of the Neue Klasse Unveiled in 1961, BMW 1500 sedan was a revolutionary concept at the outset of the '60s. No tail fins or chrome fountains. Instead, what you got was understated and elegant, in a modern sense, exciting to drive as nearly any sports car, and yet still comfortable for four.   The elegant little sedan was an instant sensation. In the 1500, BMW not only found the long-term solution to its dire business straits but, more importantly, created an entirely new

History of the BMW 2002 and the 02 Series

In 1966, BMW was practically unknown in the US unless you were a touring motorcycle enthusiast or had seen an Isetta given away on a quiz show.  BMW’s sales in the US that year were just 1253 cars.  Then BMW 1600-2 came to America’s shores, tripling US sales to 4564 the following year, boosted by favorable articles in the Buff Books. Car and Driver called it “the best $2500 sedan anywhere.”  Road & Track’s road test was equally enthusiastic.  Then, BMW took a cue from American manufacturers,

BMW 02 series are like the original Volkswagen Beetles in one way (besides both being German classic cars)—throughout their long production, they all essentially look alike—at least to the uninitiated:  small, boxy, rear-wheel drive, two-door sedan.  Aficionados know better.   Not only were there three other body styles—none, unfortunately, exported to the US—but there were some significant visual and mechanical changes over their eleven-year production run.   I’ve extracted t
